More Clint: A Fistful of Web Pages
The roundup of World Wide Web pages on the Internet devoted to Clint Eastwood will make the day of any fan.
By far the most comprehensive site is the Complete Clint Eastwood Homepage, https://www.ucalgary.ca/ camzacha/clint.html. While the author advises that some sections are under construction, both the quality and quantity of material available remain impressive.
Highlights include a library of 58 downloadable sound files from 20 of Eastwood’s films and a Magnum-quality study devoted entirely to “Dirty Harry” Callahan, detailing the similarities and differences of the five films featuring the classic Eastwood character. Interactive features include an opportunity to submit your favorite Eastwood quote and film, along with a fan directory of e-mail addresses to which you can submit your own.
Another worthwhile cyber-homage is the Clint Eastwood Homepage, https://fremont.scs.unr.edu/ douglas/clint/. Its high points include a well-rounded biography, 37 movie stills and trivia, including the enlightening fact that an anagram for Clint Eastwood is “Old West action.” You’ll also find an Internet exclusive: pictures of the menu and matchbooks from the Hog’s Breath Inn, the Carmel restaurant once partly owned by the star.
Fans might also note that the Admirers of Clint Eastwood at https://ourworld.compuserve.com/homepages/acenews/ are highly recommending Broderbund Software’s CD-ROM “Eastwood,” which documents the life and times of this action legend. A preview of the double-disc set can be found at https://www.starwave.com/text/cdrom/clint/.
The World Wide Web is also available through America Online (keyword web), CompuServe (go Internet) and Prodigy (jump web).
