St. Bernard’s matchup against Cathedral in the Southern Section IV-AA boys’ basketball final Friday will be the second meeting of the season between the schools. St. Bernard won a nonleague game on Dec. 29, 77-59. St. Bernard is a surprise finalist after finishing the regular season with a 14-10 record and qualifying for the playoffs as a wild-card selection from the Del Rey League. . . . Pacific Hills continued its run to the Southern Section V-A title by defeating Rio Hondo Prep, 70-44, Tuesday night. Conrad Adamczak scored 24 points and Ivan Barahona added 17 for the Bruins. They will play Antelope Valley Christian for the title at the Bren Center on Friday at 3 p.m. Rio Hondo Prep scored only 15 points in the first half. . . . Brentwood, in the Delphic League with Pacific Hills, didn’t fare as well. The Eagles lost a V-AA semifinal to Cate, 49-35, on Tuesday. Justin Murakawa scored 12 points for Brentwood, which advanced to the semifinals after upsetting second-seeded Chadwick.
