For a More Perfect Union
Afraid a volcano might disrupt your wedding?
Now there’s hope for such prenuptial paranoia: Wedding insurance. Offered by Fireman’s Fund, a standard policy pays up to $3,000 for cancellation of a wedding caused by a panoply of man-made and natural disasters, including blizzards, quakes, hurricanes, tidal waves, death in the family or “erupting lava,” which, as everyone knows, can really make it difficult to walk down the aisle.
The policy also picks up the tab for stolen presents, broken bones on the dance floor and reassembling the wedding party if photos are damaged or lost.
“The only thing we don’t cover,” says a spokesman, “is a change of heart.”
