Despite being shaken by an incident the night before, when the driver of the bus on which they were riding died of a heart attack, USC’s women’s basketball team managed an 87-81 victory over Washington State on Thursday night at Pullman, Wash.
Tina Thompson scored 24 points for USC, 13-13 overall and 8-9 in the Pacific 10. Erica Mashia had 21.
Washington 70, UCLA 48--Jamie Redd scored 16 of her 24 points in the second half as the Huskies (15-13, 9-8) pulled away to a victory over the Bruins (13-13, 8-9) at Seattle.
