Critics to Honor Carol Channing
Carol Channing will receive a lifetime achievement award at the Los Angeles Drama Critics Circle awards ceremony March 18 at Sportsmen’s Lodge in Studio City.
The circle also has announced that Bonita Friedericy will receive the Natalie Schafer Award, presented to an emerging comic actress. The award was endowed by Schafer, the late actress perhaps best remembered for her role on “Gilligan’s Island.”
Actress Nan Martin will host the ceremony, at which 30 awards will be presented for stage achievements in 1995. The event is open to the public. Information: (213) 466-1767.
