Villa Park’s Stremick Picks East Tennessee

Sam Stremick, a 6-0, 185-pound quarterback for the Villa Park football team, has committed to attend East Tennessee State, Spartan Athletic Director Frank Becker said.

Stremick passed for 1,307 yards and 10 touchdowns in 1995.

Andrea Tuiolosega, a 5-10 forward for the Ocean View girls’ basketball team, has received an appointment to the Air Force Academy, where she will play basketball, Seahawk Coach Billie Seibert said.

Tuiolosega was considered Ocean View’s best defender and often was assigned to guard the best opposing shooter.

Stanford outside hitter Matt Fuerbringer, formerly of Estancia High School, was named first-team All-Mountain Pacific Sports Federation in men’s volleyball, the conference announced.

Fuerbringer, a junior, helped the Cardinal to a 15-7 record and a third place finish in the conference’s Pacific Division. He was a two-time All-Orange County selection in basketball.
