Lockheed Martin completed its offer to buy most of Loral for $9.1 billion, saying more than 95% of Loral’s shares were tendered. . . . Transportation Secretary Federico Pena said low-cost airlines helped Americans save $6 billion on air fares in 1995. . . . Piper Jaffray agreed to pay $14 million to shareholders of four closed-end mortgage bond funds, settling a class-action lawsuit alleging that the company misrepresented the funds’ risks.
