Tierney Named President of Whittaker Electronic
Whittaker Corp. in Simi Valley has named Richard E. Tierney as president of Whittaker Electronic Systems, the defense electronics unit of the 53-year-old company.
Tierney joins Whittaker from Smith Industries, where he was president since 1987 of that company’s North American Defense Division in Grand Rapids, Mich.
Whittaker officials said Tierney has extensive experience managing defense and commercial avionics, flight management and weapons delivery and management systems.
As head of WES, Tierney will lead a business unit that makes a variety of defense systems and equipment for the U.S. government and foreign allies.
