Titans Drop to No. 3 in Polls
Cal State Fullerton, which has lost four of its last five games, dropped to No. 3 this week in national rankings by Baseball America and Collegiate Baseball.
It marks the first time this season Fullerton (39-8) hasn’t been top-ranked in one of the two polls.
The polls disagree on the No. 1 spot. Baseball America has Florida (36-12) first, followed by USC (36-12-1), Fullerton, Florida State (39-9) and Wichita State (37-6). Collegiate Baseball ranks Wichita State first, followed by Florida, Fullerton, USC and LSU (39-11).
Long Beach State won two of three from the Titans last weekend to take a one-game lead in the Big West but didn’t gain much ground in the polls. The 49ers moved up to 22nd in Baseball America, but remained 25th in Collegiate Baseball.
