1 Hurt as Gunmen With ‘Shopping List’ Rob Recording Studio
Two masked gunmen stole a truck and $10,000 worth of electronics after storming a local recording studio, attacking one employee and leaving seven workers bound and gagged in a back room, police said.
The two robbers entered the studio in the 1200 block of Pioneer Street about 9:30 p.m. Monday, threatened employees and hit one worker in the head with a gun, according to Brea Police Sgt. Billy Hutchinson.
The employees managed to escape their bindings and telephone police from a neighboring business, police said. The injured employee was treated at Brea Community Hospital for a minor head wound, Hutchinson said.
The owner of the business, who requested his name not be used because of safety concerns, said the robbers seemed “to have a shopping list . . . they were shopping for a home studio.”
The intruders took personal possessions from each employee and then spent nearly 30 minutes looting the studio’s equipment, Hutchinson said.
They also stole one worker’s vehicle, a white 1990 Ford Bronco with California license plate 2SPF687.
Police describe the robbers as two black men in their 20s. One gunman was about 5-foot-10 and 160 pounds, and wore a white ski mask, a gray hooded sweatshirt, dark pants and black boots. The second man was about 5-foot-6 and 140 pounds, and wore a blue ski mask, a blue sweatshirt, dark pants and tennis shoes.
