2 Militia Members in Georgia Denied Bail
MACON, Ga. — A federal judge denied bail Friday for two militia members charged with conspiring to stockpile pipe bombs.
Robert Starr III, 34, and William James McCranie Jr., 30, have been in jail since their arrests April 26, when state and federal agents raided their homes near Roberta, southwest of Macon.
Agents said they found explosives and pipe bomb components on Starr’s property, some of which they said had been transferred from McCranie’s land.
Starr and McCranie are scheduled to appear at a preliminary hearing Monday before U.S. District Judge Richard Hodge in Macon.
