Three adults and two children were found slashed to death Thursday at a trailer park, and police using a tracking dog arrested a suspect in the woods nearby.

The throats of all the victims were slashed, investigators said.

Girley Logsdon Crum, 34, of Bandon, was arrested and jailed on murder charges. Bond was set at $5 million. Crum, a convicted robber, had been released Monday from the County Jail after serving 21 days for a parole violation.

Police said they have no motive for the slayings, although Crum knew the family in Bandon, a town of 2,400 people along the Oregon coast.

The victims were identified as Ray and Kelly Jacobs, their children Jessica, 5, and Christopher, 16 months, and the woman’s brother, Roger Glazebrook.

Sheriff’s deputies found four of the bodies in one mobile home, while Ray Jacobs was able to crawl to a neighbor’s for help before he died.

Crum served three years in prison for a 1988 robbery in which he attacked the victim with a screwdriver during a house robbery, records showed.

Crum also has had numerous other offenses, including driving while intoxicated, possession of a concealed weapon, resisting arrest and criminal mischief.
