For the ‘Faithful’

The Cranberries keep the faith, passing by the mighty Hootie & the Blowfish. The English alternative outfit’s album “To the Faithful Departed” debuted at No. 1 on The Times Southern California chart and No. 4 on the national charts. The Blowfish relinquished their top spot locally, but still managed to maintain national dominace, with second-week sales of 259,000 copies for “Fairweather Johnson,” escaping the grasp of the Dave Matthews Band’s “Crash” by only 5,000 copies.
