Biopool Reports 15% Rise in First-Quarter Sales
Biopool International in Ventura announced that first-quarter sales grew 15% over a year ago.
Sales for the quarter ending March 31 grew to $1.78 million from $1.54 million. Net income nearly doubled to $299,963, or 4 cents per share, compared with net income of $153,845, or 2 cents per share, for the same period last year.
Biopool develops and manufactures test kits to assess and diagnose blood disorders, as well as to monitor the presence of drugs in the body.
The company recently appointed Michael Frick to the newly created position of sales manager. He will concentrate on the northeastern corridor from Boston to Washington, targeting the heavy concentration of clinical laboratories in that region.
