Publishing Group to Hold 1st Meeting

The Small Publishers, Artists and Writers Network, a newly formed group to help independent professionals in the publishing industry, is scheduled to hold its first meeting tonight.

“It’s a networking group for people interested in publishing,” said Ventura writer and editor Mary Embree, who is organizing the group. “I would love to find printers, booksellers, writers, photographers and illustrators who can work together and promote each other.”

The group has 14 members, but Embree hopes that will increase to 40 or 50.

The meeting will be held at 7 p.m. at the Performance Studio, 34 N. Palm St., Ventura. There will be a $5 admission fee for nonmembers. For information, contact Embree at 643-2403.
