San Pedro’s Bodlovich Wins City Golf
Kevin Bodlovich of San Pedro High took advantage of the graduation of three-time City Section golf champion Darren Angel and won the City title by shooting an even-par 142 over two rounds at Rancho Park.
“I think we’re all glad Darren is gone,” Bodlovich said of the former Granada Hills standout, now ranked No. 10 in the nation as a freshman at Arizona State.
Bodlovich, a senior, began Tuesday’s second round with a four-shot lead over Ben Krug of Granada Hills after shooting a two-under-par 69 on Monday.
He birdied three of the first six holes and defeated Krug by five strokes.
In the team competition, Granada Hills won its fourth consecutive title with a two-day total of 822. Van Nuys Grant finished second at 831.
Julie Park, a freshman from Granada Hills, won the first girls’ tournament with a 171 total.
