Sales, Profit Slide at Chip Maker Diodes

Diodes Inc. of Westlake Village announced a 7.3% decrease in sales for the first quarter ending March 31.

Sales were $13.2 million versus $14.2 million in the first quarter of 1995. Income from operations was $1.25 million (9.5% of sales) versus $1.5 million (10.6% of sales) in the comparable period a year ago. Earnings per share were 16 cents versus 19 cents in the same period a year ago.

Diodes supplies semiconductor products to the automotive, electronics/computing and telecommunications industries.
