Deputies Search for Woman With Alzheimer’s
A 77-year-old woman with Alzheimer’s disease walked away from an Ojai rest home Monday morning, prompting an air and ground search by Ventura County sheriff’s deputies that lasted into the evening.
Authorities were searching for Helen Johnson, who lives at Mims Manor on Eucalyptus Street.
“We’ve got a helicopter and ground crews looking for her,” said Senior Deputy Jim Wade. “She walked away sometime Monday morning, but we didn’t get the call until about 5:30 [p.m.]”
Johnson was last seen wearing a brown sweater, white blouse and brown pants. Anyone with information on her whereabouts is urged to call the Sheriff’s Department at 654-2314.
