GREENLAND, N.H. — An antiabortion activist was arrested on charges that he repeatedly went to a police station to report that murders were taking place at an abortion clinic next door, police said Wednesday.
Brigit Ordway, a spokeswoman for the Feminist Health Clinic next to the station, said the arrested man, Steven Mears, 42, “has been picketing our clinic faithfully every week for the last 16 years.”
Mears was released on a $1,000 personal recognizance bond and is scheduled to return to court on the misdemeanor charge of filing a false report Sept. 23.
