In a Sunday afternoon ceremony at the Simi Valley Police Station, officers will unveil a memorial to one of their own, killed in the line of duty a year earlier.

Sunday marks the first anniversary of Police Officer Michael Clark’s death. To honor his memory, city leaders will dedicate two memorial plaques mounted in stone on the station lawn.

One plaque will be devoted specifically to Clark, fatally shot outside an Aztec Court home last year. The other plaque will honor all law enforcement officers who have died in the service of their communities. The Rotary Club of Simi Sunrise and the Simi Sunrise Charitable Foundation donated the plaques.
