SEC Files Charges Over Chantal Trading: The Securities and Exchange Commission alleged insider trading by Roger D. Wyatt of Houston and David L. Holewinski of Yardley, Pa., in connection with their sales of shares of Los Angeles-based Chantal Pharmaceutical Corp. in February 1993. The SEC charges that Wyatt, then a consultant to Chantal, knew confidential information about Upjohn Co.’s decision to terminate a licensing agreement with Chantal. Wyatt sold 10,000 Chantal shares ahead of the announcement, saving himself $21,963 as the stock then fell, the SEC says. Wyatt then tipped off his friend, Holewinski, who sold his Chantal shares and avoided losses of $28,162, the SEC says. Wyatt and Holewinski could not be reached for comment.
