Mossimo Names Financial Officer

Mossimo Inc. said Tuesday that it has appointed Anthony C. Cherbak as executive vice president and chief financial officer. Cherbak, 41, had been a partner with Deloitte & Touche LLP, the accounting firm, where he oversaw a department that provided services to retailers and apparel manufacturers.

Cherbak’s appointment, which takes effect Sept. 9, is part of Mossimo’s ongoing effort to build its executive ranks as it expands into new apparel and accessories markets. Cherbak, who’d been with Deloitte for 18 years, is one of several outsiders to join Mossimo’s ranks in recent months.

“We recognize that enhancements to the company’s infrastructure, including enlarging our management capacity, are necessary to keep pace with our growth,” said Mossimo’s founder and chairman, Mossimo Giannulli.

Cherbak earned a bachelor of science degree from Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles and is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and treasurer of the Orange County Marine Institute.

Mossimo distributes a growing line of men’s and women’s apparel and accessories to department and specialty stores. The Irvine-based company completed its initial public offering in February.
