Ervine Leads Slumping Splash Past the Warthogs, 5-4

Dale Ervine scored on an assist from Danny Barber with a minute to play as the Splash ended a two-game skid with a 5-4 victory over the Washington Warthogs in a Continental Indoor Soccer League game Saturday at the USAir Arena in Landover, Md.

Ervine, who leads the team with 21 goals and 35 points, also scored in the first half off Raffaele Ruotolo’s assist.

Ricky Rodriguez later scored his first professional goal on a pass from Bernie Lilavois, giving the Splash a 4-2 lead at the half. Washington (8-6) tied the score on consecutive goals in the third quarter.

Doug Neely and P.J. Polowski also scored first-half goals for the Splash (8-5).
