SMALL FACES: Whether or not she signs up for the Lilith Fair, Joni Mitchell has plenty else going on. In addition to two anthology discs due in October (one called “Hits,” the other “Misses”) and a tribute album being overseen by her producer/ex-husband Larry Klein, she’s just signed a three-book deal with Random House that will see her publishing a collection of her art, another of lyrics and poetry and then a volume of anecdotal memoirs. . . .

Oasis will tape an “MTV Unplugged” show this week in London. The set will debut on the music channel in November. No word yet on whether the session will also result in a CD release. . . .

Tori Amos, who found herself in the unlikely position of No. 1 on the dance charts with a remix of her song “Professional Widow,” is releasing an EP this week featuring an alternate version of “Hey Jupiter” plus four live recordings, including her rendition of “Over the Rainbow.” . . .
