Obituaries : Andrew S. Murphy; 36-Year County Resident
Andrew S. Murphy of Camarillo, a retired sheet metal worker at Raytheon Corp., has died at his home after a brief illness. He was 76.
The 36-year Ventura County resident was born Dec. 1, 1919, in New Orleans. He joined the Air Force and his 21 years of service took him through World War II and the Vietnam War.
After his retirement from the Air Force Murphy joined Raytheon. He worked at the company’s Oxnard plant.
He was a member of St. Mary Magdalen Church in Camarillo.
Murphy is survived by his wife of 46 years, Dora; one brother, Norman Murphy of Sacramento; one son, Andrew Murphy Jr. of Elk River, Minn.; two granddaughters, and one great-grandson.
Visitation will be at 9:15 a.m. Tuesday at St. Mary Magadelan Chapel in Camarillo. The rosary and Mass will follow at 10 a.m. Interment will be in Conejo Mountain Memorial Park, Camarillo.
