Elvis Presley, “Elvis: A Hundred Years From Now,” RCA. (* 1/2)

In a world of often confusing choices, here’s a piece of information that may be useful. When looking for good Elvis albums, avoid any collection that was “recorded in the ‘70s in Nashville”--even if it is filled (as is the case here) with previously unreleased material. Think a second: Most of the original versions of the songs here were among Elvis’ weakest efforts, so why would you want the versions that were left in the vault? The album does contain some studio horseplay, but the laugh is on anyone who buys it.
