A Newbury Park man was arrested this week after making a sexually explicit video with a teenager in an Oxnard motel, authorities said Friday.

Police said that about 1 p.m. Wednesday, Oxnard Detectives Bruce Reed and Robert Cox investigated a report of a child pornography video being made at the Wagon Wheel Motel in Oxnard.

The investigation led police to the home of Robert Michael Pecci, 38, of Newbury Park, according to Reed.

“During a search of [the] residence, evidence was discovered to support the allegation,” Reed said. Police said they found a video camera, lighting equipment, videocassette recorders, cameras, film and videotapes.

Pecci was arrested on suspicion of sodomy, oral copulation and digital penetration with a foreign object, all with a minor, police said.

The victim is 16 years old and lives in Ventura County. Police did not release the victim’s name nor gender.

Additional charges of child exploitation are being investigated by the district attorney’s office, Reed said.

A spokeswoman at the Ventura County Jail said Friday night that Pecci had been released, though the terms were not disclosed.
