Reader Wants Newhan to Check His Sources
How long are you going to continue using that shill for the baseball players’ union, Ross Newhan? Week after week, he simply regurgitates the propaganda given to him by the union and presents it not as opinion, but fact.
His “column” of Aug. 18 is a case in point. The point of the article was, as always, that the owners are wrong, the players are right, and the owners should make the final concession on service time. And who was the impartial expert used by Newhan as the primary source to “prove” his case? None other than Marvin Miller, former head of the union.
Why not simply have Donald Fehr write the column, and cut out the middle man?
