Espinoza Stars as Clash Beats Rapids, Chases MLS West Leaders

Missael Espinoza scored two goals and assisted on another Sunday as the San Jose Clash spoiled the Colorado Rapids’ Major League Soccer home finale with a 3-1 victory in front of 8,990 at Mile High Stadium.

The victory moved the Clash (14-14) to 38 points. The top four teams in the Western Conference, including the Los Angeles Galaxy, are separated by only three points, or one game.

Espinoza scored in the 24th and 40th minutes and assisted on Paul Bravo’s insurance goal in the 85th minute. Colorado (11-20) got a 30-yard free-kick goal from striker Jean Harbor in the 28th minute.
