Key returners: Shana Bannert, 5-10, outside hitter, Sr.; Jennifer Carey, 6-1, setter, So.; M.E. Clayton, 5-11, middle blocker, Sr.; Joanna Fielder, 6-2, middle blocker, Sr.; Meghan Haller, 5-9, setter, Sr.; Melissa Snow, 5-10, outside hitter, Jr.
Key newcomers: Breanna Badorek, 6-0, middle blocker, Sr.; Monica Bridel, 5-8, opposite, Jr.; April Ross, 5-9, middle blocker, Fr.; Erica Wade, 5-7, outside hitter, So.; Beth Waterman, 5-6, outside hitter, Jr.; Laura Wells, 5-4, back-row specialist, Jr.
Outlook: The Sailors lost Jeannette and Julia Hecker, who were the heart and soul of the team last season. They have some good height this season and some young talent. They might take a few lumps during the nonleague season, where they will play Laguna Beach, Huntington Beach and Dana Hills and in a tournament in Chicago.
