Opportunities for Volunteering
Granada Hills Community Hospital, 10445 Balboa Blvd., needs volunteers during the day shift, on Wednesday and Thursday evenings and on weekends. Call Marvel Weber, director of volunteers, at (818) 360-1021, Ext. 6640, from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Thursdays and 1 to 5 p.m. Mondays.
Project Caring, sponsored by Jewish Family Service of Los Angeles, needs small groups of volunteers to adopt a nursing home in their neighborhood, visiting monthly and bringing programs of Jewish culture and holiday celebrations to residents. Jewish Elder-Care Corps, a separate program also sponsored by Jewish Family Service of Los Angeles, needs volunteers to work one-on-one with nursing home residents. Call (818) 318-3996.
