Fox to Launch Kids Channel in Latin America: Fox Kids Network, which recently announced plans to launch a 24-hour children’s channel in Britain, will do the same in Latin America beginning Nov. 1. The channel expands on a block of programs, including “Spider-Man” and “The Tick,” currently available in Latin America on Canal Fox. The channel will broadcast in Spanish, Portuguese and English to 19 countries. Early this week Fox announced a $150-million public offering on Fox Kids Worldwide to finance acquisitions and expansion plans. Fox is the top-rated children’s service in the U.S. but faces stiff competition from companies such as Time Warner Inc. and Walt Disney Co. in the international arena.
