It’s Time to Take a Shot at Staying Healthy

It’s that time of year again--shot time--and the Team Immunize campaign, conducted by the Los Angeles Department of Health Services, is trying to take the sting out by offering its services at 175 clinics throughout the county. The clinics are staffed with physicians and medical personnel fluent in Spanish, Chinese and Korean; vaccinations will be given free to children 6 and under. The hours are Mondays, 5-7 p.m., and Saturdays, 10 a.m.-noon, through Oct. 28. Call for locations: (800) 427-8700.

* Give your children insight into the lives of kids in the past and take along the grandparents to reminisce at the Antique Toy Show and Sale from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Sequoia Athletic Club, 7530 Orangethorpe Ave., Buena Park. * Cal Poly Pomona’s Arabian Horse Show features the university’s award-winning Arabians in costume and performance.
