NORTH HOLLYWOOD — A 10-year-old boy was in critical condition Saturday night after being shot in the head through a car window, authorities said.
Details about the shooting were not available late Saturday, said Officer Ruben Lopez of the Los Angeles Police Department’s North Hollywood station.
The shooting occurred just after 9 p.m. at Sherman Way and Whitsett Avenue, said Bob Collis, a spokesman for the Los Angeles Fire Department.
The boy was reportedly sitting in a car, but it was not immediately known whether the attack was a drive-by shooting or he was the intended target, according to authorities.
The boy was taken to Providence Holy Cross Medical Center in Mission Hills, Collis said.
