Emulex Corp.: The Costa Mesa designer and manufacturer of software- and hardware-based network access products recorded a net loss of $941,000, or 16 cents a share, for the first fiscal quarter, which included a one-time consolidation charge of $1.3 million. That compares with a net loss of $3.5 million, or 59 cents per share, for the same quarter a year ago. Revenue for the quarter ended Sept. 29 grew 54% to $16 million from $10.4 million reported for the same quarter a year ago.
