2 Plead Not Guilty in Window-Breaking Spree
Two men pleaded not guilty Wednesday to shooting out the rear windows of three vehicles as they drove on Los Angeles-area freeways.
Hugo Hernandez, 22, and Jose Soto, 21, were charged with 14 counts each, including assault, vandalism and conspiracy.
Hernandez and Soto, who will face a preliminary hearing Nov. 12, are the only suspects to have been arrested on suspicion of participating in a monthlong rampage that left more than 250 vehicles with shattered windows.
The suspects remained in custody after Municipal Judge Michael Kellog set bail at $140,000 each.
The cars attacked between Sept. 11 and Oct. 10 had their rear windows shattered on the freeways by BBs or other small projectiles.
