Oilers, Aztecs in Critical Meet

The Esperanza boys’ cross-country team meets Huntington Beach at 3 p.m. today at Yorba Regional Park, where the Sunset League title would have been on the line if the Oilers hadn’t been forced to forfeit three league victories because of an ineligible runner.

If Huntington Beach (1-3) defeats Esperanza (4-0), the Oilers must finish no worse than second at the Sunset League finals Nov. 9 to advance to the section prelims Nov. 16. If Esperanza defeats Huntington Beach today, the Oilers must win at the league finals to advance.
