Two members of the cult accused in last year’s Tokyo subway gas attack gave themselves up, a police spokesman said. Koichi Kitamura, 28, one of 10 members of the Aum Supreme Truth cult alleged to have carried out the attack, surrendered to police at his apartment in Saitama prefecture, a spokesman for the local police station said. Kitamura’s roommate, Zenji Yagisawa, 34, who also is a cult member, was arrested as well. The two were renting the apartment under false names, police said. Eleven people were killed and more than 5,500 injured in the March 20, 1995 attack, in which the deadly nerve gas sarin was used.
