* SAN JOSE STATE (2-1) at PEPPERDINE (1-2)

Time--7. Radio--KWNK (670).

Pepperdine’s shooting problems continued Saturday in a 65-52 loss at Boise State. The Waves made only 11 of 22 free throws and are shooting 50% from the foul line, and their three-for-11 effort from three-point range improved their percentage to 19%. Backup guard Khary Hervey should be available after not making the trip to Boise because of illness, and that still leaves the Waves with only eight scholarship players. San Jose State, in its eighth season under former USC Coach Stan Morrison, is playing its fourth consecutive game against a West Coast Conference team. The Spartans defeated Santa Clara, 76-65, Sunday after beating St. Mary’s and losing to San Diego. Forward Olivier Saint-Jean leads the Spartans with averages of 22 points and 7.7 rebounds.
