TV Actor Jailed for Probation Violation

Television actor Sasha Mitchell was ordered Tuesday to serve 180 days in Ventura County Jail for violating the terms of his probation and was immediately taken into custody.
Municipal Court Judge Bruce Clark ruled that Mitchell acted unlawfully when he moved to Tennessee earlier this year. Clark revoked Mitchell’s probation and remanded him to jail.
The 29-year-old actor and kick boxer pleaded no contest to misdemeanor spousal abuse last year for beating his pregnant wife when they lived in Thousand Oaks.
Mitchell, a former actor on the TV show “Step by Step,” was sentenced to three years probation and ordered to attend counseling sessions for abusers.
But prosecutors said he twice violated the terms of his probation--most recently by moving out of state.
Mitchell testified Monday that he had to move to Tennessee to care for his four children, who he alleges were being abused and neglected by his estranged wife. His wife, however, testified that Mitchell was the abusive one.
