Edward K. Milkis; TV and Film Producer Worked on ‘Star Trek’

Edward K. “Eddie” Milkis, 65, television and film producer who worked extensively on the original “Star Trek” series. A native of Los Angeles, he began his career in the film shipping department at ABC. Next he served as a film editor on such successful movies as “North by Northwest” and “The Time Machine.” He signed on as associate producer of “Star Trek” four weeks before it went on the air, and stayed three years. He eventually became post-production supervisor at Paramount Television, and then formed a production team with Tom Miller. Milkis’ credits include the highly popular television series “Happy Days,” “Laverne & Shirley” and “Bosom Buddies.” Among his feature films was “The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas.” Milkis last year was president of the Guardians of the Jewish Home for the Aging and he was active in the Stop Cancer charitable group. On Saturday in Los Angeles after a lengthy illness.
