Bruins and Trojans to Open Conference Seasons Tonight
The UCLA and USC women’s basketball teams, both 6-3, will begin their Pacific 10 Conference seasons tonight in the state of Washington, the Bruins playing at Washington State and the Trojans at Washington. On Saturday, they will switch opponents.
Freshman sensation Maylana Martin leads the Bruin charge, averaging 19.4 points and 7.2 rebounds a game. USC senior Tina Thompson is averaging 23.6 points and 10.6 rebounds.
Washington State (5-3) is led by Yvonne Kunze (13.5, 6.4); Washington (5-4) is led by Jamie Redd (20.9, 4.4).
UCLA and USC will play host to national power Stanford and California next week.
