King defenseman Rob Blake, who suffered a broken hand Dec. 26 during a 5-2 victory against the Phoenix Coyotes, was one of 15 players added to the Western Conference roster for the NHL All-Star game on Jan. 18 in San Jose.

Forwards Mats Sundin of the Toronto Maple Leafs, Theo Fleury of the Calgary Flames and Pavel Bure of the Vancouver Canucks were some of the other roster additions selected by the NHL’s operations department.

Edmonton center Jason Arnott and Colorado center Peter Forsberg also were named to the team, but Arnott won’t be playing because of a broken ankle and Forsberg is listed as doubtful because of an injured left leg.

The starting lineup as determined by fan balloting will be: Patrick Roy of the Avalanche in goal; defensemen Chris Chelios of Chicago and Sandis Ozolinsh of Colorado; and Avalanche center Joe Sakic between Brett Hull of St. Louis and Paul Kariya of Anaheim.

Ken Hitchcock of Dallas will coach the team and will be assisted by Colorado’s Marc Crawford.
