Parriott, USC Pull Out a Win

Jodi Parriott was fouled while trying a desperation half-court heave as time expired and made all three free throws to give USC a 69-68 victory over Washington on Thursday night in Seattle.

Parriott finished with 22 points for the Trojans, 7-3 overall and 1-0 in the Pacific 10 Conference.

USC twice led by 15 points early in the second half, but Jamie Redd, who finished with 34 points and 11 rebounds, scored eight points during a 13-2 run that gave the Huskies (5-5, 0-1) their first lead with 2:10 left.

UCLA 77, Washington State 73--Junior Tawana Grimes made four free throws in the final 23 seconds to seal the win for the Bruins (7-3, 1-0) at Pullman, Wash.
