Carolina linebacker Kevin Greene, the NFL sacks leader with 14 1/2, was held out of practice because of a sore shoulder but is expected to play in Sunday’s divisional playoff game against Dallas.

Greene bruised his right shoulder Wednesday when he and a receiver landed awkwardly after diving for a pass, Coach Dom Capers said.

Sore-ribbed quarterback Steve Young took only four snaps and didn’t throw a pass during practice at Tempe, Ariz., but is still expected to start for San Francisco in the NFC playoff game Saturday at Green Bay.
