Long Beach State ended a three-game losing streak Monday with a victory over Bethune-Cookman at the Pyramid. Guard James Cotton scored his 1,000th point and is third in the nation in scoring, averaging 24.9 points. Center Ike Nwankwo, a transfer from UCLA, was efficient in his 49er debut with 14 points and seven rebounds. Reserve forward David Sivulich leads St. Mary’s in scoring, averaging 16.2 points.
