Authorities are searching for two male suspects in a Saturday night knife attack in Camarillo.

The 9:15 stabbing took place at the Premium Outlets center on Ventura Boulevard.

Chris Lee Frosaker, 19, of Ventura was stabbed twice in the lower back and was transported by ambulance in serious condition to St. John’s Regional Medical Center in Oxnard, according to county Sheriff’s Senior Deputy Steve Cargile.

Frosaker was in fair condition Sunday night, said a hospital spokeswoman.

Details of the events leading up to the attack were sketchy. Authorities say Frosaker and a teenage friend, who was not identified, were attacked while at the center, according to Cargile. After the attack, the two suspects fled east toward a nearby hotel.

The Sheriff’s Department called in a police dog and a helicopter to search the area, but the suspects escaped.

Frosaker and his friend were being cooperative with authorities, said a sheriff’s spokesman. However, they told detectives they did not get a good look at the suspects, he said.

No weapon has been found and there had been no ar ests as of Sunday night.
