Spotlight: Enron Buys Wind-Power Generator
Energy giant Enron Corp. said it acquired closely held Zond Corp., one of the largest developers of wind-power electricity generation, and formed a unit to focus on developing renewable energy projects. Terms weren’t disclosed. Enron said the deal will help it build a significant share of the global renewable energy market. Tehachapi-based Zond will become a subsidiary of Enron Renewable Energy Corp. Wind power accounts for less than 1% of the world’s electricity.
