Frank Sinatra was hospitalized Monday for undisclosed reasons, two months after an eight-day hospital stay that fueled speculation about his condition.

Sinatra, who turned 81 on Dec. 12, arrived at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center early Monday by private car and was admitted to a private room, said Susan Reynolds, spokeswoman for the entertainer.

“Mr. Sinatra requested that no more information be provided,” Reynolds said.

Sinatra was expected to return to his Beverly Hills home today.

Cedars-Sinai confirmed that Sinatra was there but declined to release any information on his condition.

In November, Sinatra was hospitalized for a pinched nerve and slight pneumonia. The hospitalization led to a series of television reports that Sinatra was near death, had suffered a stroke or heart attack and was in the intensive care unit hooked up to a respirator.

“I know you’ve read dreadful things,” Sinatra’s daughter, Nancy Sinatra, said in a television interview last month. “But he had a pinched nerve in his neck, and thank God he had it, because that’s how they found out he had a touch of pneumonia.”
