Opponent--Florida Panthers.

Site--Pond of Anaheim.

Time--7:30.

TV--Channel 9 (blacked out on ESPN2).

Radio--KEZY (95.9 FM).

Records--Ducks 14-21-5, Panthers 21-10-9.

Record vs. Panthers--1-0.

Duck update--They haven’t won in the two games since beating the Panthers, 3-0, on New Year’s Day. Holding leads has become a problem, and after a 5-1 loss to Vancouver on Monday, the defense is a renewed concern. Coach Ron Wilson moved Paul Kariya off the point on the power play Tuesday to try to “freshen the approach.” He’s also considering giving tough guy Shawn Antoski a chance to show if he can play, despite hip and groin injuries that might require surgery.

Panther update--They no longer have the NHL’s best record but are still tied with Colorado for fewest losses. Florida has been off since beating the Kings, 5-0, on Saturday, and is waiting for a chance at revenge for last week’s loss. “We owe them a New Year’s present,” captain Brian Skrudland said. Goalie John Vanbiesbrouck has emerged from his uncharacteristic slump, giving up only four goals in the last three games, including the three the Ducks scored last week.
